Describe the project as if you were sharing it with another educator on how to create it for their classroom. Hidden Safari we picked an animal of our choice. We then practiced drawing the animal upside down. After we practiced, we than drew our animal lightly using cool colors. Then over the top we made different patterns using warm colors to hide our animal. Then we created the lenses so we could see our hidden animal. Tracing and cutting out the pattern for the glasses we then glued on the red plastic for us to look through. We also wrote down three hints, to help people figure out what our animal is.
For an extension activity Students will research the animal they drew in their Hidden Safari artwork and write a short, imaginative story or informational paragraph about it, combining art with literacy and science.
